Don’t Forget The Tripod:

Amazing firework photos are the ones that are captured with long exposures and you can only have them sharp is when you use a tripod. If you are not in a condition to bring the tripod at the scene, then brace your camera over something steady such as the walls, railings or railings.

Find Location Before Time:

Once the show starts, you will not be able to move for the perfect spot in the crowd. Look for a place where there is a clear view of the sky without any kind of obstacles in between you and the fireworks. Try finding interesting landmarks that can add more interest in your firework photos.

Stay Away From Flash:

The flash of camera or external isn’t too powerful to reach to the fireworks. Even if it would, you wouldn’t want to light the fireworks away. So don’t take flash with you.

Keep The ISO Small:

While capturing the firework your camera should have high ISO as this can add a lot of noise to your photos and can make your picture ugly. 100 ISO is considered perfect with the long exposures for firework photography.

Use Slight Self-timer:

You can still cause some distractions in the photo even with the camera on tripod just by pressing the shutter. In order to have a perfect sharp shot, set your self-timer to the minimum duration which will allow your camera to settle firmly before taking the shot.

Focus To Infinity:

If you are mature enough to use manual mode, then use it. Set an aperture in between f/8 to f/20 and set the focus to slighlty less than infinity.

Shoot, Shoot And Shoot:

Take a lot of pictures and try out different experiments. See what happens when you make changes in the settings. You can delete the bloopers later but this will help you capture some unexpected beautiful shots.
