Party photos; Getting very popular these days as they are the most shared photos on social media specially Facebook. Taking photographs at parties, or any social gatherings can be a tricky job for a new comer or a selfie but trust me it is full of fun as you are the one who see everything what happened there. Here today we have tried to explain few tips and techniques to get beautiful party photos to make the event more memorable.
If you’re having responsibilities of taking photos at your next Tea Party, kitty Prom Party, Pool Party, holiday party, Christmas party, birthday party, office party etc or any other type of social event which we missed here, Hopefully these tips will help you get better and more interesting event photography shots.
1. Know the schedule of events
Always have a digital and multiple reminders for events and make sure you reach long before the start of the event so you can make your self and camera ready so you don’t miss anything.
2. Start Early taking Photos
When you enter the venue, whatever type of party you need to shot, my advice is start taking photos early. Arrive early to take photos of the decorations, food, the cake, etc before any people show up.
3. Avoid Red Eye
One of the most common occurrences when taking pictures of people at parties is red eye. To make sure your friends and family don’t look evil eyed have them look just over your shoulder rather than directly at camera. This should help reduce the chances of red eye in your pictures therefore saving you time having to take it out before printing them.
4. Don’t be afraid to zoom in or out
It is great practice zoom in and zoom out while taking party photograph’s and Don’t be afraid of fitting your subject into your camera frame by zooming. By this way you can get the expression of the subject. Also make sure you get pictures of the party as a whole, don’t be afraid to zoom out to capture the entire room.
5. Make it Interesting – Group Photos by Not Shooting everybody in the Line
Groups Photos (in past) in the beginning or end of the party standing in one queue is really boring and out dated. People tended to arrange themselves into a straight line, shoulder-to-shoulder, as though they were taking a end of year class photo. My suggestion here is make it interesting by by arranging them in different position so they all look like participating in different things. Try to get photos of small groups as it is difficult to cover all in one photo; they are all spread out in smaller groups. While having everyone in the same room at the same time, get that group shot so you can treasure it afterwards.
6. Capture the emotion
Expect the UN-expected, Keep your camera ready and turned on so you’ll be ready for something very natural and spontaneous expressions, which are not possible in normal photo-shot.
7. Be Candid
You can get some great shots of your family, friends and Party Monster when they don’t even know they are getting their picture taken. This is great for capturing emotion at the party
8. Try different Concept perspectives
Be creative and try different concepts and don’t be afraid to try new thing throughout the party: gather them in small groups sitting, stnading or jumping around to get their perspective of the party to get a shot of everyone at the party.
9. Do Some Photo-Editing (Photo Manipulation)
To make Party Photograph’s more interesting I advice to do some photo editing (Photoshop) and if you can add and remove objects to photograph’s then it will be next level of Party Theme Photography.
10. Use Interesting Props
Adding fun to photo make them more interesting. Almost everybody love this and it often brings the party to next level. As per me most popular props can be used in any party can be anything from a hat, funky glasses or a fake mustache, you know better than me
11. Stay till end, to take after Party Photos
sometimes after party photos become more interesting and you get some natural and unexpected expressions of subjects which are not possible in normal situation to get, so stay in the party till end to take these photos.
